Sunshine (Poem)

On the beach, under the shade I lay
Hide and seek you decided to play

Every time the leaves parted you peeped
You touched stoked dappled and steeped

Your warm yellow gave me a beautiful tan
Though originally that hadn't been the plan

Don't be harsh and hot, have some concern
Tan is ok but I don't want a painful sunburn

Ignite a slow burn like a lover's caress
Start from my feet to my wind ruffled tress

In your beautiful balmy arms, I will sleep
A ray of sunshine on my palm I will keep.
