Oh! Squirrel a cute little thing,
You are so hard working.
The way you climb up and down,
With so much ease, you never frown.
I wish I could learn that too,
So I could hide whenever I want to.

Madeira & Mime - Powai

We were in Powai and had just finished the work we were supposed to finish but unfortunately by that time it was 3pm. We walked down to three different restaurants and unfortunately all of them had just closed their service for lunch. We had been out since morning and by now we were hot, hungry and in a hideous mood. Finally we came across Madeira and & Mime and almost wept with joy. They were open and it was cool inside and wonderful smells wafted our way. Pure bliss. The first round was all drinks; cold, colder, coldest being our motto. Beachcomber, cold coffee, oreo chocolate frappe and hot chocolate with marshmallows( don’t ask me why, there is no logic to what kids choose, except of course it said chocolate). Beachcomber and coffee were good. Oreo chocolate frappe was good too. The smiley on top made us smile and helped further bring down our temperature a notch or two. The hot chocolate with marshmallow hadn’t been a great choice to begin...

Tavola

An impromptu lunch date had us heading out to Thakur Village and turned out to be the case of ‘Jaate the Japan pahunch gaye Cheen, samajh gaye na’. It so happened that we could not find a parking space around ‘Restaurant A’ and when we did find a space, there was ‘Restaurant B’ right across the road. So Restaurant B it was. This was ‘Tavola’. The restaurant has two sections the left hand and the right hand section; we were seated in the right hand section. The size of the place is an ‘L’ but the way they have done it up makes it feel smaller than that, guess their aim was to provide privacy. The décor is a bit too much, as in too much happening in terms of the ceiling, the lights, the partitions, the chairs and I am also not a fan of artificial plants. So the décor isn’t much to talk about. [Hmm.. it’s completely contrary to the fact that I have just devoted a whole paragraph to it. :)] Anyway let’s move on to the food now, which was decent enough. We start...

Loud speakers

Loud speakers any where in general and in mosques and temples etc in particular should be banned. If i wanted to hear those religious sermons i would come to that place and sit there and listen to it. But i most defenitely do not want to hear them early in the morning when i am trying to catch some sleep after a sleepless night tending to my sick child. My babay most definelty does not need to hear it. Same goes for late in the night sermons, which continue till 11 pm even after the 10 pm curfew rule.
